Have you ever walked past someone, they bump into YOU, and yet you say sorry? Surely you must have. It's in our nature. How about the same scenario, but this time it was you walking into another person? The right thing to do would be to apologize. If you are in the wrong, then apologize for you're wrong doing. What if you aren't in the wrong but people make you feel like you are? For example, what if you are black, gay, female, male, part of the LGBTQ+ community? Unfortunately there are people in the world that make you feel you should be apologetic. Should you have to apologize for any of that? The answer is no, no, NO. It is time for individuals that are being themselves and expressing themselves to be unapologetic and show to world that they don't need to be sorry for being who they are. "Unapologetic Me" is a screen dance that was hosted by Stockton University's organization La Mesa to discuss self acceptance and living authentically on a day to day basis. The event was not only the screening but a display of incredible art work and performances from Stockton's students as well. This La Mesa event has helped me realize that the world should be sorry for being biased and rude, not the people expressing themselves and being who they are. Being there and seeing the fire in the eyes of the panel as they discussed how they have become unapologetic for being themselves has really opened my eyes as well. Be yourselves everybody, be the best you. It's time I become unapologetic me, and its time for you to become unapologetic you.

Hey Stockton, if you ever find yourself walking through J-Wing, you may have passed J-105. What awesome room is that? Why its the tutoring center of course! The tutoring center is one of the best resources Stockton has to offer. Not only is the staff kind and welcoming, they are also eager and happy to assist you with any subjects they have under their belt. Math? They're the pro's. Chem? They would love to have you in the mixture. Writing? Get ready to see sentence structure like you never have before.
It is proven that everybody learns and absorbs information in different ways. Sometimes, sitting in class and being taught one way may just not work for you. Stockton wants to make sure that if someone is struggling to learn in their class, that giving up is not an option. All it takes to understand new material, is a visit to the tutoring center and view the material from a different perspective. They will get through to you by utilizing many different teaching strategies, and they will do it all with a smile. If an auditory method isn't working for you in class, then maybe a visual teaching strategy will click. Because of the tutoring center, I was able to realize which teaching/studying method works best for me. The best part was that I felt welcome from the moment I walked in, and ended up walking out with far more knowledge than I anticipated. If you are ready to channel your true learning abilities, and unleash maximum potential with the help of the tutoring center, then make sure to stop in and see just how wonderful of a resource it can be. Hope to see you there! The center has more than one location and schedules can be accessed via the Stockton website by entering "Tutoring Center" in the search bar. |
